BRIAN Belak

Brian Belak is an audiovisual archivist living in Los Angeles, where he currently works as a Film Preservationist for the UCLA Film & Television Archive. Brian was previously Collections Manager and Client Services Director at Chicago Film Archives and has worked with community and amateur collections for UCLA Library Special Collections, Skid Row History Museum and Archive, and Home Movie Day events. Brian holds a Master's degree in Library and Information Science from UCLA and a BA in Cinema and Media Studies from the University of Chicago, where he was a projectionist for Doc Films. Brian serves as Board Secretary for the Al Larvick Fund.


KIRSTEN LARVICK

Executive Director

Kirsten Larvick is a documentarian and archivist. As an archivist she works with independent filmmakers and organizations to reach their ongoing archiving, preservation, exhibition and distribution goals. Additionally, Kirsten is a co-chair of the Women’s Film Preservation Fund (WFPF) and serves on its Grant Selection Committee. She founded the Al Larvick Conservation Fund in honor of her grandfather. kirstenstudio.com

 

Paula Roque-Rivera

archivist & AMIA Pathways Fellow

Paula Roque-Rivera is a digital archivist from Puerto Rico. She holds a Master's degree in Arts and Cultural Management and a Bachelor's degree in Hispanic Literature, both from the University of Puerto Rico. As a digital archive coordinator, she developed the Audiovisual Digital Archive for Andanza, a Puerto Rican dance company, which is hosted at the Digital Library of the Caribbean. Paula is passionate about the curation and management of digital archives, with a special focus on community archives and moving image collections. Currently, she works at the General Archive of Puerto Rico and collaborates with the Rutgers University Puerto Rico Archival Collaboration. With a Digital Archivist Specialist Certificate from the Society of American Archivists, she is dedicated to safeguarding Caribbean cultural memory and making archival materials accessible to broader audiences. Paula is a 2024 fellow of The Association of Moving Image Archivists (AMIA) Pathways Fellowship program in conjunction with the Al Larvick Fund on a joint internship and professional development program.

 

Connie xuncax

archivist & AMIA Pathways Fellow

Connie Xuncax is 2023 a fellow of The Association of Moving Image Archivists (AMIA) Pathways Fellowship program in conjunction with the Al Larvick Fund on a joint internship and professional development program. She received her B.A. in Cinema and Television Arts & Gender and Women's Studies from California State University—Northridge before entering the audiovisual archival world to explore her passion for film history and its hidden gems. Connie recently received certificates in Archives and Digital Collections and Digitization Skills from Pasadena City College. Previously, she interned at the Skid Row History Museum and Archive as a digitization intern working with MiniDVs and VHS. Connie also interned at the Academy Film Archive as a project researcher, where she assisted in record creation and data entry for the InFrame project, and was the first project researcher to focus on indigenous people in American cinema culture.
